SEOUL: South Korea's cumulative exports this year had reached $709.4 billion as of Saturday, surpassing the country's record annual total of $709.3 billion set last year, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources and the Korea Customs Service said.
If the current robust export momentum continues, South Korea is expected to reach $1 trillion in annual exports in early December, a report by the head of the Korea Customs Service said. The report was cited by the South Korean president on social media on Saturday.
Despite challenging external conditions, including hostilities in the Middle East, the country's exports have continued to grow, led by semiconductors, the report said.
